As professionals we are committed to the complete development of the child’s character emotionally, intellectually, physically, socially and morally. Within a stable and caring Montessori environment, our responsibility is to nurture, guide, educate, and prepare the child to become a happy, independent contributing member of a global community. We are equally dedicated to developing and maintaining a mutually respectful partnership with parent/guardians, families and caregivers in the best interest of the child.
In our capacity as early childhood educators, we strive to respond to the needs of the community. Our goal is to provide access to resources which will strengthen and nurture family and community relationships.
As childcare professionals, we strongly believe that we make a valuable and unique contribution to the overall growth of the child through our continued commitment to personal and professional development.
Show me, and I’ll remember today,
Teach me, and I’ll remember tomorrow,
Allow me to discover, and I’ll remember
FOREVER!

Our primary goal is to cultivate a child's desire to learn. Children are driven by a natural curiosity and love for knowledge. Rather than seeing a child as an empty vessel to fill, we see them as eager beings, always craving to develop new skills and understanding. Knowing this, we see ourselves as guides directing this natural urge to learn.
Through interaction with each child, we encourage and direct their energies. Each child has his/her own unique pace. Some children enjoy working quickly, and yet others like to take their time. Recognizing this, we encourage children to strive for their personal best academically, socially, and artistically.
Not only do we consciously guide the individual child in their self growth, but we also set social standards of behavior within the classroom. These standards govern behavior in any social setting. As a result, the child is offered an opportunity to develop an understanding of what behavior is socially accepted, and which ones are not. Courtesy and respect towards fellow classmates is an important part of our classroom atmosphere.
The curriculum and environment form a framework from which children can develop their social skills and acquire knowledge at their own pace. The habits and skills a child adopts at Blossom Progressive Montessori are life long. The most important of these are the thirst for knowledge, developing social skills, and striving for one's personal best.
…is to regard the child's intelligence as a fertile field in which seeds many be sown, to grow under the heat of flaming imagination. Our aim therefore is not merely to make the child understand, and still less to force him to memorize, but so to touch his imagination as to enthuse him to his inner most core. We do not want complacent pupils, but eager ones: we seek to sow life in the child rather than theories, to help him in his growth, mental and emotional as well as physical, and for that we must offer grand and lofty ideas to the human mind, which we find ever ready to receive them, demanding more and more. ”
